2011 Board Election Online Voting Ends at Midnight Tuesday, September 28th
 The 2011 Board Election began Friday, September 10th and runs until midnight on Tuesday, September 28th. Election results will be announced to the general membership via the website and email by October 6th. Elected members will serve on the Board for a two-year term beginning January 1, 2011.
Board elections are taking place electronically using Votenet. If you are a member in good standing and have not received an email notice with voting instructions, please contact the Chapter Operations Director, Laura Deaton Klauke.
For the 2011 term, the Board has seven open seat. Members are asked to vote for the seven (7) candidates that will best carry out the Chapter Mission. As you consider your choices, please make sure to review each candidate's application by clicking on the candidates name on our Elections page.

October Green Drinks
Tuesday, October 5th 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm Mechanical Systems Tour: Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) 764 West Street, Pittsboro, NC Reception: The General Store 39 West Street, Pittsboro, NC
The October GreenDrinks features a 6:30 pm tour of the new LEED certified buildings on the Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) Chatham County Campus, followed by social networking at the Pittsboro General Store beginning at 8:00 pm. The event is hosted by the Triangle USGBC Emerging Professionals in collaboration with the Sustainable Technologies Program of Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) and Chatham County Waste Reduction.
The tour will be lead by Scott Almond, who is the design Engineer for the mechanical systems installed in both buildings. He produced all the energy models used for CCCC's LEED certification and designed all the HVAC systems including the Solar systems, Fire Protection systems, and Plumbing systems. Scott is a professional engineer and LEED certified. He works for The Wooten Company as Project Engineer and is a graduate of NCSU's mechanical engineering program.
The event is free and no registration is required. Participants will meet at CCCC at 6:30 pm and carpool to the General Store at 8:00 pm.

The Triangle Emerging Professionals & USGBC are hosting our Second Annual Builders of Hope Volunteer Day event on October 16th, which will once again take place at the State Street development. We are also looking for individuals/ firms interested in donating construction materials, tools or helping with construction transportation during the day. Calling Construction Site Leaders
We are looking for qualified Construction Site Leaders for the October 16th Builders of Hope Volunteer Day Event. Interested individuals should have experience with construction administration, and/ or landscaping installation. Site leader’s duties will include directing teams of 10-15 volunteers during the event, and assisting in coordination of site work, volunteer teams, and materials/ tools. If you are interested in being a site leader please contact Stephanie Coble.

The Triangle USGBC / Emerging Professionals Annual Golf Tournament was held at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course on August 26th, 2010. Great golfing and beautiful weather! A total of 64 players teed up on a beautiful sunny day with low humidity.

This special Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) 5-day seminar provides an in-depth, comprehensive learning and problem-solving forum for those who want a broader understanding of the latest energy cost reduction techniques and strategies. The program begins by examining the basic fundamentals within all key areas of energy management. From there, the instructors systematically move to a “working level” knowledge the specific principles and techniques needed to really get the job done.
