City of Raleigh Certification Training
The Sustainability Office is initiating a comprehensive training program focused on the various trades/occupations that will be needed to perform work within the City related to the new “green” building and retrofit movement and potential/expected regulations. These opportunities are being offered to both the residential and commercial trades, as well as, city staff. This Certification Program is to include:
Green Builders, Green Plumbers, Home Energy Raters (HERS), LEED, Energy Code(IECC), Codes and Green Building, Sustainable Landscaping, Green Cleaning and Janitorial, Others, as needed.
We intend to conduct these classes/training, annually, for the next three (3) years. The first set of classes is for Certification for Climate Care, Water Efficient Technologies Certification, Solar Hot Water Certification, and Inspection Report Services Certification. All of these certifications will be granted by the Green Plumbers USA, based in Sacramento, Ca. These initial classes will be offered over the next few months.
