Summary:

Develop and maintain a database of organizations and corporations who would be likely to support the chapter either philanthropically or through sponsorship.

Overall Committee Charge:

The Development Committee is focused on funding activities that advance the mission of the USGBC and the priorities of the Chapter. The committee meets monthly to formulate strategies that will support all Chapter activities through event and annual sponsorships.

Major Tasks / Responsibilities:

·       Research organizations who share the chapter's principles and would be likely to support the chapter's mission.

·       Organize prospects in an excel database & update the database as contacts are made

·       Track previous and current chapter sponsors to ensure relationships are maintained

Benefits & Intended Outcome:

·       Support chapter development efforts

·       Develop knowledge of sustainably minded corporations

·       Build relationships within the green building industry

Expected Investment from Volunteer:

1 year term, 3-5 hours per month, including a monthly committee meeting
