Advocacy Needs Assessment

Summary:

Survey and assessment of local municipality green building policy and legislation

Overall Committee Charge:

The purpose of this committee is to educate and inform local government and community leaders and to influence them to adopt sustainable design practices in schools, local and state codes, policies/laws.

Major Tasks / Responsibilities:

Perform a needs assessment of local municipalities’ policies and resources and prioritize the most demanding needs that the chapter can address.

Benefits & Intended Outcome:

Assisting our local municipalities and state government in developing and supporting legislation that encourages a more sustainable North Carolina.

Volunteer Qualifications:

Experience with advocacy and/or legislation beneficial, but not required.

Expected Investment from Volunteer:

1 year term, 1-3 hours per week.
