National Local Leaders Representative: Rob Caron

Communications

The Communications Committee is responsible for: 
• Working with each EP sub-committee and the USGBC NC Triangle Chapter to promote events, inform members, and encourage communication. 
• Collecting, managing and distributing information using the EP website and calendar. 
• Collecting, managing and submitting content to the Chapter Communications Chair for Green News,  the monthly newsletter. 
• Developing and managing the EPCommunication Tree using the EP Gmail account.

Design Competition

The Design Competition Committee is responsible for: 
• Encouraging participation in the North Carolina Sustainable Building Design Competition sponsored by Triangle USGBC and EP. 
• Coordinating NCSBDC attendance at Greenbuild for the National Design Competition. 
• Coordinating media coverage. 
• Coordinating the post-design charrette for the winning student team and builders. 
• Attending competition advisory team meetings.

Finance

The Finance Committee is responsible for: 
• Working with each EP sub-committee to develop a budget each year to submit to the board. 
• Pursuing sponsorships for specific events as well as the EP group at large by having at least one sponsorship drive each year. 
• Coordinating sponsorship events with the chapter finance committee.

Membership
The Membership Committee is responsible for: 
• Maintaining a master list of members and prospective members. 
• Running membership drives in November and May of each year. 
• Encouraging prospective members to join the EP. 
• Maintaining and constantly updating a list of EP membership benefits. 
• Providing a list of current members for each EP event to ensure that members enjoy their discounts. 
• Developing and maintaining documents for the new member package. 
• Maintaining the EP yahoogroups listserve.

Outreach

The Outreach Committee is responsible for: 
• Networking with likeminded student and young professional groups possessing a sustainable mission. 
• Working with programming chair to coordinate joint events (greendrinks, tours, etc) with these groups to promote greater sharing of resources and promote greater networking. 
• Tracking conferences, seminars, and workshops in the area promoting green building; making EP members aware of these opportunities while seeking ways to best represent the EP (printed materials, booths, displays, etc.) 
• Encouraging young professional participation in USGBC endeavors such as LEED accreditation, workshops, and GreenBuild.

Programming

 The Programming Committee is responsible for: 
• Creating goals and a framework for each EP event. 
• Handling details and coordination for each specific event, including sponsors, speakers, tours, designers, rsvp’s, agendas, food, and/or buildings. 
• Organizing one event each month (which currently is structured to include one GreenDrinks event every other month, and one EP educational event in the alternating months). 
• Providing event announcements and post event recaps to the Communications Committee Chair for Green News, the Chapter Newsletter.
• Coordinating events with the chapter programming committee.

Universities
The University Chairs serve mainly as liasions between the major Universities in the area (NCSU, Duke, and UNC) and the Triangle EP group. The University Chairs are responsible for:
• Representing the university to the EP group, and vice versa.
• Seeking ways to promote greater interest in green building among the student body.
• Promoting increased student enrollment in the EP.
• Coordinating EP events with other sustainable campus events.
• Encouraging student participation in USGBC endeavors such as LEED accreditation, workshops, and GreenBuild.
• Coordinating activities with other University Chairs.
