Triangle USGBC Talk-N-Walk: French Family Science Center @ Duke

A tour of the LEED Silver French Family Science Center will be given by Myron Taschuk, project manager for Duke Facilities, and Shelley McPhatter, of BridgePoint Construction Services. 

The French Family Science Center, a $115 million and 280,000 square-foot project, was completed in 2006. It features state-of-the-art research and teaching laboratories. The building also features two green roofs, water-less urinals and heat recovery wheels.

The tour will be followed by this month's Green Drinks at the nearby Energy Hub in the Gross Chemistry Building, an adaptive re-use and resource conservation structure.

Talk-N-Walk registration is $10 for Triangle Chapter Members, $20 for non-chapter members and free to students. Talk-N-Walk participants will earn 1.5 GBCI and AIA continuing education credits.  No registration is required for Green Drinks unless you want a free parking pass.
