USGBC at UNC was founded in 2011 to be a cross-disciplinary group on campus to learn about and promote sustainable building practices. The mission of USGBC at UNC is:

1. To help members become LEED accredited in the highest qualified level;
2. To provide opportunities for guest lecturers to speak to members of the group and the university community; and
3. To provide opportunities to visit fully constructed LEED certified buildings as well as projects under construction or in the design and planning phases
