The deadline to submit Green Awards Nominations is Friday, November 4^th at  4:00 p.m. EST

Projects which are completed between  January 1, 2011 and December 1, 2011 are eligible for an award.

2011 Awards Categories:

Applicants can submit nominations in multiple categories.

Public Official of the Year:

To a legislator or public official within the Region who has promoted and influenced sustainable initiatives’ involving policy, economic development or job creation.

School of the Year:

To a k-12 School or University who has created either a case study, competition or creative class content engaged in green practices which successfully mitigate environmental impacts.

Community Leader of the Year:

To an individual or organization that has positively impacted this Region as a green leader and promoted methods to reduce our local carbon footprint .

Market Transformer of the Year:

To an individual, design firm, builder or building owner who has designed or built a LEED certified project which will serve as a prototype for our Region’s built environment. This category also includes individuals or companies who have embraced impactful  initiatives including minimizing their carbon footprint, as well as reducing energy and water consumption.

Chapter Volunteer of the Year:

To a Triangle USGBC member or Board Member who has provided exemplary service in promoting the growth and success of our Chapter.

Timeline:

Nominations Acceptance Begins: October 7, 2011

All Nominations Due: November 4, 2011

Winners Announced at Awards Event: December 8, 2011

Your nomination must be submitted electronically. It must include the attached nomination form and a separate write-up of no more than 3 pages, summarizing the reason for the nomination, criteria used to support it, and history of the nomination. Supporting documentation is optional and may include bios, graphics and photos, letters of support, etc.
