Triangle USGBC Chapter Wins City of Raleigh Environmental Award

NC Triangle Chapter of the USGBC has been named the recipient of the Raleigh Environmental Award for Environmental Awareness for 2010. The award is given to a business or individual for demonstrated leadership or teaching others about the environment The chair, Bae-Won Koh, and a director of the board, Stephanie Coble, were presented the award by Raleigh Mayor Charles Meeker at a special event on April 22 (Earth Day) at Marble's Kids Museum.

"NC Triangle Chapter's mission is to promote buildings and communities that are environmentally responsible and healthy places to live and work in the Triangle area and it is an honor to be recognized our effort by City of Raleigh" said Koh at the ceremony. "This award is received on behalf of our 500 members and supporters who advocate LEED buildings like City of Raleigh. We continue to strive for expanding our education programs in coming years."

The City of Raleigh created the award program in an effort to recognize outstanding work in sustainable development and environmental stewardship. The Chapter was selected by a jury of judges from among numerous nominations. Read more...
