The North Carolina Chapter of the American Institute of Architects awarded to Douglas M. Brinkley, FAIA the 2010 Gail Lindsey Sustainability Award in recognition of his dedication and commitment to a mutually enriching relationship between people and places exemplified by the life of and through standards pioneered by the late Gail Lindsey, FAIA. The awards ceremony was held on Saturday evening, September 18, 2010 at the Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina.

Doug was instrumental in forming the North Carolina Chapter of the USGBC and has held several Board positions, including Chair of the organization in 2009.
