The Triangle USGBC Chapter is excited to have significantly upgraded our website and internet capacity. One of the results of that upgrade is that members are receiving critical membership and chapter information from a new email sender. Some email filters are sending this new information to the junk folder.
Every active member should have received an email on 8/6/2010 announcing the USGBC NC Triangle Chapter 2011 Board Nominations Open. If this email did not come directly to your inbox, please take a moment to upgrade your "safe senders" list to recognize @triangleusgbc.org.
Please take a moment to edit your safe senders list following the instructions below for Outlook 2007 and Gmail. Send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with Safe Sender as the subject if you have any questions or need more information.
Safe Sender Instructions for Outlook 2007
1. Start Outlook.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. On the Preferences tab, click Junk E-mail.
4. On the Safe Senders tab, click Add.
5. In the Add address or domain dialog box, type @triangleusgbc.org and then click OK.
Note The e-mail address that you add to the Safe Senders list does not have to be listed in your Contacts list.
6. Click OK to close the Junk E-mail Options dialog box.
7. Click OK to close the Options dialog box.
To add a sender directly from an email message that was delivered to the junk email folder, follow these steps:
1. Go to junk email folder.
2. Select the email from which you want to trust the sender.
3. Right-click the email message, point to Junk.
4. And then select Never block Sender's domain.
For more information about safe senders, click Microsoft Outlook Help on the Help menu, type safe senders in the Office Assistant or the Answer Wizard, and then click Search to view the topic.
Safe Sender instructions for Gmail
1. Open Gmail
2. Click on the Create a filter link that is directly to the right of the search button.
3. In the From box type: @triangleusgbc.org.
4. Click the Next Step button.
(At this point, any previously received emails that would have been filtered should be listed in the bottom half of the page.)
5. Check the Never send it to Spam box.
6. Check the Also apply to the conversations below box to send any missed previous messages to your inbox.
7. Click on the Create Filter button.
8. A report should appear reading:
Matches: from:(@triangleusgbc.org)
Do this: Never send it to Spam
