Will Senner, LEED AP BD+C

You need JavaScript enabled to view it  is an Assistant Project Manager in the Durham Office of Skanska USA Building, a leading global provider of construction management services. Currently, Will is working on the James B. Hunt Jr. Library project at North Carolina State University where he is responsible for their LEED and BIM/Innovation implementation. Previously, Will was a part of the preconstruction group at Skanska, where he worked on projects across the east coast primarily in the healthcare, higher education, and commercial market segments, including numerous LEED projects. He has also worked on special projects at Skanska including work with the LEED consulting group and the national innovation initiatives.

Will was recognized in 2011 as the region's Green Advocate of the Year by Triangle Business Journal and has presented to numerous local organizations including CMAA, CSI, AGC, and AIA and at national industry events including AGC's BIMForum, Autodesk University, ENR's FutureTech, and ConstrucTech's Technology Day.

Senner graduated with honors from Duke University in 2006 with a B.S.E in Structural Engineering and a Masters of Engineering Management. Will joined the USGBC Triangle Chapter as a member of the Emerging Professionals in 2006, where he has served as their local Co-Chair as well as the Vice Chair of the USGBC Emerging Professionals National Committee.  He has served on the USGBC Triangle Chapter Board of Directors since 2009 and has been Chair of the Chapter since 2010.

Traci Rose Rider

2012 VICE CHAIR

You need JavaScript enabled to view it  is the Director of the Downtown Design Studio and Research Associate at North Carolina State University’s College of Design and Partner in Trace Collaborative, LLC. Traci’s research and practice experience has focused on the relationship between the design culture and the notion of sustainability. She received her professional Bachelors of Architecture degree from the University of Cincinnati (2000), her Master’s Degree in Human-Environment Relations with a focus on Environmental Sociology from Cornell University (2006), and her doctorate from the College of Design at North Carolina State University (2010).

Traci’s research interest involves design culture and the influence of sustainability; human – environment relations; design for special populations including children and the elderly; and community engagement strategies. Because of her leadership in green building, she has been featured in Dwell magazine (2005), was granted the individual U.S. Green Building Council Leadership Award in Education (2005), and was included in a group of “The Re-Inventors” in Vanity Fair’s inaugural Green Issue (2006).

Traci has authored Understanding Green Building Guidelines (W.W. Norton 2009) and co-authored Understanding Green Building Materials (W.W. Norton 2011), and frequently presents at academic and professional conferences on green, sustainability, integrated design and community engagement. Traci’s professional experience over the past ten years has included work in international design firms; green building non-profits; university extension, research and education; and sustainability consulting.

He is a LEED AP, Green Advantage Certified and Green Advantage Instructor teaching over 100 contractors at Wilson Community College. He has served as a director of the board and a chair of Economic Development Committee for Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce. He has been a member of Education Committee of USGBC NC Triangle Chapter since 2006, served as the Chair of the Education Committee in 2007 and is currently serving as the liaison to the SERC (South East Regional Council).

Prior to joining CaraGreen, Stacy was a consultant working with the non-profit sector, private industry, and government to develop and execute start-up strategies for businesses and social enterprises. She specializes in all aspects of operationalizing a business including financial modeling, business development, and fundraising. Prior to starting her own consulting practice, Stacy was a management consultant for ten years with an international firm where she contributed to rapid growth and expansion by developing new markets and managing multi-million dollar projects. She holds a BA degree from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from Duke University, where she participated in a unique global program that included on-site experience in over a half-dozen countries.

He has 16 years of experience in educational, commercial and mixed-use project design. He received his Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea, and the Master of Architecture degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY. He has been managing several sustainable projects at Innovative Design since he joined the firm in 2004. He has pledged to Architecture 2030 Challenge and all his projects have been designed to meet or exceed the 2030 challenge. He was the chair of Education Committee in 2006 and served as a representative of the chapter to USGBC SERC for 2007–2008. He also served as the Vice Chair of the Chapter in 2009 and the Chair of Triangle USGBC in 2010. This is his 5th year as a board member.

Bae-Won has spoken at numerous conferences and workshops including Greenbuild, AIA National Convention and many other professional and public events teaching sustainable design measures and showcasing exemplary projects. He is currently a member of American Solar Energy Society, International Solar Energy Society and a lifetime member of Korea Green Building Council.

She received a Bachelor of Architecture from Catholic University and Master of Science in Real Estate Finance from Johns Hopkins University, Carey School of Business. Caren brings with her 16 years of commercial and mixed-use experience, having worked in both an architectural and development capacity. She has been responsible for managing all phases of work including entitlements and acquisitions, strategic planning, design and construction management. Caren's expertise includes commercial interiors and building renovations as well as development of infill and Brownfield sites.

Caren is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Triangle Chapter, and is licensed in North Carolina and Washington, DC. She is also a member of the Triangle Chapter for Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) and the Urban Land Institute (ULI), where she serves on the Communications Committee.

A principal and director of building structures/land development at Mulkey Engineers and Consultants, she has been involved with the LEED process for new construction and renovations of more than 3 million SF of educational and municipal facilities. She has also successfully led Mulkey's green initiative, bringing her environmental stewardship to the corporate level.

With over 22 professional and community affiliations, Valoree's volunteer service enables her to put her commitment to sustainability into vital community action. Senator Basnight appointed her to the State of North Carolina's Building Commission in 2009. Valoree is serving her second term of the Senator's 2006 appointment to serve on the North Carolina Code Officials Qualification Board representing both Professional Engineers of North Carolina (PENC) and the American Council of Engineer of North Carolina (ACEC/NC). She serves as secretary/treasurer on the board of ACEC/NC. Valoree is also active on the Paul Zia Lecture Committee at NC State University. Valoree received her B.S. in Architectural Engineering – Structures from The Pennsylvania State University in 1989 and her M.S. in Civil Engineering – Structures from Northeastern University in 1997.

He is a Civil Engineering graduate of Purdue University with over thirty four years experience in the construction industry, comprised of almost ten years in field operations and almost twenty four years in estimating, preconstruction and business development. Terry has been in the Triangle market for almost twenty five years, with more than fourteen of those years with Skanska. He brings a wealth of industry experience to the table in the areas of project planning, preconstruction services, cost control and design management across multiple market sectors.

Terry is a Past President of the General Contractors Association of Raleigh and Past Chairman of the Raleigh Industry and Development Roundtable. He is a member of the Professional Construction Estimators Association and serves the Association of General Contractors as a certified Master Trainer in their Construction Supervision training program. Terry also serves as a member of the Construction Management Technology Advisory Board at Wake Technical Community College where he assisted the technology department in establishing an Associates Degree Program in Construction Management Technology and also serves as a part time professor in the CMT department. Terry, member of the USGBC Triangle Chapter, is a LEED AP working on his BD+C specialization and holds his general contractor license in the state of North Carolina.

In addition to his professional affiliations, Terry has served his community as a Past Chairman of the Planning Board and Board of Adjustments in Apex, and has been a long time supporter of the Apex Parks through his involvement in the organization Citizens for Apex Parks.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it  is a Professional Engineer registered in North Carolina and South Carolina.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Degree from NC State University in 1997.  Over his career, Steve has developed a wide range of experience pertinent to land development project management and design and has worked on over twenty-three (23) LEED Registered or Certified projects.  Steve has also been a 5-time volunteer with the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) where he was honored to have opportunity to assist with development of both the Green Associates and Building Design & Construction (BD+C) credential exams.  Steve has served on various Boards, including Habitat for Humanity, Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), and the Cape Fear Green Building Alliance (CFGBA). This is his second year serving on the Board and will be the Liaison to the Diversity & Outreach Committee.

She has been a member of the Emerging Professionals since 2007 and joined the volunteer task force in 2009 as the Communications Committee Co-Chair, and is also currently serving as the Emerging Professionals liaison to the Triangle USGBC board.


Anti-Trust Compliance Statement

Organizations such as USGBC may engage in a number of educational activities for its members and the public. For example, USGBC may collect or distribute to industry participants, customers and the public information about green building products or services. However, since organizations like the USGBC involve interaction and communications between competitors, they also are subject to scrutiny under the antitrust laws.

It is the policy of USGBC to comply fully with the antitrust laws. To avoid creating any issues under the antitrust laws, the members of the USGBC should not engage in any discussions or agreements concerning the following topics either in formal meetings or informal social gatherings:

1. Prices, price changes, price quotations, bids, pricing policies, pricing philosophies, price levels, price differentials, mark-ups, discounts, or allowances;
2. Any element of price, including credit, warranties, or other terms and conditions of sale;
3. Output, production, profits or costs;
4. The customers to whom a company sells;
5. The territories in which a company sells;
6. The amount that a company pays for goods or services;
7. The selection, rejection or termination of customers or suppliers;
8. Business plans or strategies;
9. Restrictions on the development or use of technology; or
10. Exchange of any competitive information.
