
The U.S. Green Building Council NC Triangle Chapter is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, membership based organization promoting green building practices and knowledge in Triangle area (Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill) as well as the eastern region of the state. The NC Triangle Chapter is part of a network of over 75 USGBC Chapters throughout the United States which represent USGBC in their respective regions. Our commitment is to serve as a respected and visible catalyst for change in the region for green building practices, technologies, policies, and standards.
The leadership team consists of the Board of Directors who oversee Chapter policy, a Chapter Operations Director who manages daily operations, and ten different volunteer Committees that contribute to the development and operation of the chapter's activities and mission.

The USGBC NC Triangle Chapter vision is to achieve a sustainably built environment, including green buildings and healthy communities, in the North Carolina Triangle region and the State of North Carolina.
NC Triangle Chapter Mission
The USGBC NC Triangle chapter aims to be the regional point of contact to promote development, design and construction practices, buildings and communities that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work. With this mission, we intend to serve the Triangle Region and the State of North Carolina through implementation of LEED, information exchange, and education. Additionally, we intend to encourage widespread knowledge and acceptance of LEED™ certified buildings and integrate LEED™ certification with High Performance Guidelines already being implemented across the state.
